this just occured to me the other day. i remember neil peart raving about the bamboo snare. he seemed to use alot of it for his 'vapor trails' album. (md interview) why don't they just make a line of kits with the same process? perhaps a gloss semitransparent finish? it would look so different from all the other kits out there! add the nouveau badge and lugs, and voila!!

I thought it would be cool if they made a whole kit out of bamboo too. Apparently bamboo is very difficult to work with, so maybe making a whole kit out of it would be too much trouble.

yeah, i suspected as much. wouldn't it be a great environmental idea? it definitly would've been exotic.

Yeah, maybe it's in the works. Who knows.
I wish more manufacturers would stretch out their product lines as Yamaha has. There are more woods than maple and birch. [img]wink.gif[/img]
